Damien Hobgood wins Globe WCT Fiji
Damien Hobgood was in a league of his own, posting some high single wave scores throughout the event to eventually take out rookie Shaun Cansdell (Aus) (pictured left) in the 30-minute final. Hobgood, who narrowly missed out on a final with his twin brother CJ who was eliminated by Cansdell in the semi-finals, has won this event once before in 2004. Hobgood moved into third place on the ASP World Tour rankings and pocketed US$30 000 in prize money.


The Globe WCT Fiji is the fourth stop on the Fosters Men’s ASP World Tour features the top 45 men in the world. The event takes place at the left hand reef break of Cloudbreak, 5km’s offshore from Tavarua Island, Fiji
